The whole world is talking... so join in
Each company must be aware of a wider environment of its activities. We in Channel Crossings actively acknowledge this principle, be it in the form of spreading awareness about high quality language services, or through our programs for disadvantaged groups of people.
Channel Crossings language school has been active on the Czech market for 20 years now. In 1993 the company owner, Ms. Lenka Doležalová Pavilková, decided to open her own language agency in order to help cross over language barriers. This is also the basis of an unusual and symbolic name of the company ? Channel Crossings. Since the very beginning the company focussed on language education in the Czech Republic and abroad and on providing translation and interpreting services.
Every year Channel Crossings language school is a partner of the international language and educational Lingua Show Fair. The agency always takes part in preparations of the main as well as the accompanying program in the form of demo lessons for people interested in language instruction, a test centre to identify a level of language proficiency, or information seminars.
Channel Crossings language school is also a guarantor of language and educational fair Profesia Days. At the agency´s kiosk the people interested can undergo a free test and find out the level of their communication skills in six languages - English, German, French, Spanish, Italian or Czech.
Another event where we regularly take part is the Holiday World tourism fair. At our kiosk you will learn a lot of useful information about our language school as well as various opportunities of study abroad.
Within the Lifelong Learning Programme citizens of the European Union now have an opportunity to take part in the international educational workshop under the Grundtvig programme. One of the Czech organizers is the Channel Crossings agency.
Although in the past five years the language services market was facing a drop in demand, it currently seems that since the turn of the decade the situation has been changing. In 2011 the total volume of the language teaching market ranged between 1.7 and 1.9 million lessons provided by over 200 language schools and agencies. While the end of the past decade saw closures and mergers of a number of language schools, this area of business is, after all, doing better now.
